Week 1: Ann’s Blog

            This week a nice young girl has come to accompany little Ann. Her name is Drucilla, she is very sweet and I am much joyed to have her here with us! The poor young thing only had one dress! I had the seamstress make her three wonderful dresses. She seems very content and happy here. Her first night here I asked her if it would pleasure her to call me mother. She said it would, I was very pleased.

             The next morning Rose told o this terrible story of me trying to kill myself, I was very upset with her. Perhaps she had a dream about it? Drucilla spoke of this Gabe who she grew up with. She said he was staying with Goodwife Putnam, the poor thing must be miserable. I have invited him to come and visit Drucilla anytime.  In conclusion I am very happy to have Drucilla here with us.
